We were sent here to learn to meet God, we will be tested in a great eternal test: fitness of spiritual endurance. Some will shrink and not that they should drink the bitter cup, others will rise to the occasion and greatly surprise you. Some will humble you to tears on what they have endured. We will all meet God, some of us not face to face, because we could not endure his presence and it would remind us of how not like him we are. Then there are going to be those few who glow like Jesus; the Father and his son in luster: you will have that feeling in the pit of your heart when you were around them to exclaim as the apostles of old: “Did our hearts not burn within us” http://ldsscrip.aem.church/nt-luke-24-32/
This sanctifying fire is the Holy Ghost; it is the same fire that existed before God was, it was the hot coal placed on Isaiah’s lips and those who feel it’s power know they are cleansed every whit from sin: an assurance in that very moment. It is the sea of glass in the celestial temple in heaven for which God sees, knows and predicts all things.
