God knows we are wicked (evil) that’s why he gave us our lord, “Jesus Christ” to show us exactly what we are expected to be in likeness; not clones but in approximately as close as we can get to being like him within our own natures. Becoming like Jesus is known as repentance. By applying that “oneness” (becoming like him) we are effectively repenting and the atonement (or at-one-ment, becoming one with Christ”) is applied to our application for glory and we are no longer wicked. God gives us so many opportunities to be righteous.
