The Doctrine and Covenants
Wherefore, I revoke not the judgments which I shall pass, but woes shall go forth, weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth, yea, to those who are found on my left hand.
God always refers to his left hand as his punishment hand. He refers to the world’s judgment as, the left hand knoweth not what the right hand does; or even as far as pilot symbolically washing his hands of the savior’s blood. Meaning god knows that men don’t deal righteousness in judgment but he assures us all that he will.
The right hand of the world does all too often reward those who deserve punishment (the left hand), but god knows and all his punishments are just because he allowed the wicked to enjoy their short-lived carnally sensed form of happiness (or what they thought was happiness), and now they have had their executioner’s meal: their last meal before they go out no more into a blissful eternity.
And lastly the world punishes those who are not deserving punishment; it is as if everyone doesn’t know what is worthy of praise: Jesus warns constantly that if ye judge, judge righteously.
