Once the promises afar off have been seen:
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them “afar off”, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
Once you are persuaded of the promises that Christ has told you; the mansions prepared, and the rewards of righteousness, you then embrace those promises; finally, you confess that you never really belonged on the Earth, that truly you came from this heaven our Lord speaks of and must return one day. Return from being a “pilgrim” on the Earth.
